GERMAN LESSON! Spring is at all it's blooming colors... 😍 Wish you amazing .... and here comes another German word: Bergfest or Bergtag... This surprisingly short word describes a day in the middle of working week. Like you know, it was hill up so far, from now only hill down to the weekend! Berg means the "hill", Tag means the "day" so literally (as always in German) Hillday.
Not to be confused with Brückentag, which is a day you get free in Germany if for example Thursday is holiday, so you get free Friday to connect with the Weekend. Then Brückentag is the Friday.
Usage can be following: "Bergtag kommt diesmal schon am Dienstag dank Freitag ist ja Brückentag!" Translated: Hillday is this time Tuesday, because Friday is a Bridgeday! This would be your "casual" watercooler chat with your strictly business colleagues. In Germany you are only allowed to chat casually about business related things otherwise you get shot in the leg. So this is about as casual as it gets. Cheekily free time related, yet business relevant.

THROWBACK THURSDAY! 😥💖 Calm winemaker's village in peaceful landscape, castles on only true 100% slope vineyards, birds of prey fighting for wild rabbits... Perfect harmony that can only be improved by 107dB of pure and only American race car as a tiny girl (though at this time, a bit too fluffy) is trying to get last few HPs more out of her after making silly jokes on Porsche Facebook groups to race for slips. Daily struggle observed by 10s of neighbors. More in summer times, less in winter times for "no apparent reasons"... One even told me he was telling his wife it was a guy mechanic so he can for hours look out of the window to check on the progress. I gave him a calendar when I left.
