Was out of town for a bit. It may be a bit of a departure, but; have been realizing how different my life is now and how unusual my situation is, carrying around a bowling ball all of the time. Figured I would share a story for a change of pace.
I work in a medical office occasionally as a part-time contractor. Bear in mind I am at a point now where there is no clothing I can wear that completely conceals my bulge, ever. The closest I come to "blending" in when I got out in public, or to an office, is wearing black cargo pants with a waist 8 or 10" larger than my actual waist, and wearing them as low as my belt will allow, to create as much space in the crotch as possible without sticking out a ridiculous amount.
With my improvised clothing I can blend in enough that it isn't obvious from across the street, or if I'm careful with how I sit, but anyone who sees me walk or observes me closely is bound to notice.
There is a particularly energetic and not-so-bright office manager who started trying to get me to follow the company dress code of regular grey pants. I'm sure everyone in the office is aware of something abnormal about my anatomy, but either she doesn't care, or is completely oblivious.
Long story slightly less long; I tried every pair of grey pants I could find, and the size is so obvious in anything I tested, that I realized it simply wasn't possible to go into that office wearing grey pants without it being a huge (pardon the pun) disruption; far too obvious. I also didn't feel the desire to discuss my anatomy with her, if she was too oblivious to see it already. I wound up making an excuse the next time I worked about my cat puking on my "brand new pants", and from then on just kept wearing the same black baggy cargo pants, which still show too much; but less than the failed "dress code"...
Ahh, the silly problems we have.
