Do I miss it? Nah!!! After the last couple years with massive drifts and severe temps I'm enjoying a break!

Chiro, really cold wind, and comforting hot delicious food: lamb from our own Icelandic flock!ð
Sometimes I look the look...
...the Laura Ingalls Wilder look people associate with the prairie homestead life ð

Just need an apron I suppose ð

2024-12-18 06:12:51 +0000 UTC View PostSo creamy and delicious!! Beau thinks it has the slightest "goaty" taste. Whatever, his loss. It's all mine and just divine!!! ð

2024-12-05 03:42:23 +0000 UTC View PostModeled some clothes for you plus thrift store finds that didn't come home... Came across a weird glass shoe collection, and a hand crocheted framed doily that reminded me of Grandma's doilies.

I still have this year's to process too!

2024-10-19 19:36:27 +0000 UTC View PostWhat do you think of blanched asparagus?!? Celery is blanched and I prefer it that way. Asparagus though, I'm just not sure! I am interested in trying blanched Rhubarb! Blanching is basically limiting light to growing plants to keep them tender. It's also a term used in food preservation that means a quick partial cooking process prior to freezing.

2024-10-18 15:21:58 +0000 UTC View PostA glimpse of Tiny Town....Hot Springs Arkansas. Lends credence to the saying: "One man's trash is another man's treasure"! The most expensive item used to create everything was a $4 piece of clear plexiglass! Everything else was created out of items normally thrown away.

Some people make pets out of tarantulas. No thanks!!! Beau was not impressed either!
I'm still in the South... And this is how they haul long pieces of bamboo ððð
2024-10-11 01:04:54 +0000 UTC View PostI have a long-standing disagreement with my dentist... Twenty years ago, before my wisdom teeth came in, he said I should get them surgically cut out. Today, although they came in just fine years ago, he says there's some cavities starting and I should just get them pulled cause I don't need them. Sorry doc, they're staying. I'm stubborn ð Maybe in another twenty years....

JK... It's a peacock egg! We might cook this one Have you tried other eggs besides chicken? I've tried pickled quail eggs, duck, and goose. Maybe next year we'll have enough peacock eggs to hatch!
It's been quite the year already! I started a bakery, was a regular vendor at two farmers markets, planted a much bigger garden than usual, bought my first brand new large appliance, had some harsh sad learning curves with growing the sheep flock, Beau and I got hitched and completely DIY'd our wedding, and I'm currently thinking about adding some acreage to the farm and brainstorming remodel ideas for the stately turn of the century farmhouse we call home at the moment. So if you wondered where I wandered off to... It's been one heck of a busy year!
