An editorial published in Crack Magazine. I think it mainly focuses on music artists these days but it used to have us models in there! This shoot holds fond memories for me because I met one of my best friends who was styling the shoot (oh haaaai SMC). We had worked together before on a video shoot for the tour visuals of Röyksopp (which also just happened to one of my first jobs after moving to London from Dublin). But like many people you work with on shoots - you have a great time and then don’t always stay in touch. Anyway - these images were reproduced after their publication by an artist as part of an exhibition. I sadly didn’t get to attend the exhibition as I was working and living in Istanbul by then so a missed opportunity to spend time outside of work with my soon to be pal. One day a while later (back in London by now ) while I was sitting in a bar in Hackney I was approached by a rather stylish beauty bounced over to my table and announced that she had some huge blown up pictures of me taking up space in her flat, did I want them. We then discovered we were neighbours and the rest was ‘ow they say - ‘istory (in my head my faux french accent is terribly chic but I have no proof). The two pictures in question are now framed on the walls of my flat - if you follow me on Instagram you might already have spotted them. Some of the other paintings of me at the exhibition went on to be sold. I had no idea who would want a picture of me on their wall to be perfectly honest but they have been spotted by friends of mine over the years hanging in people’s homes. Notably one occasion was an old housemate who has gone for a dinner date and there I was hanging on the wall of his date’s flat. A good conversation piece at the very least??
