I’ve had a crush on this girl at work for months. We work in different departments, but we always run into each other in the breakroom. She’s beautiful, and on top of that, she always wears sandals or heels, which I can’t help but notice. I try to be subtle, but I guess I wasn’t careful enough.
One day, we were in a meetting together, and she was sitting across from me, casually dangling her heel off her foot. I must have been staring too long because she suddenly smirked and said, “You really like my shoes, huh?” The whole room went silent, and I could feel my face burning. I laughed it off and said they looked nice, but she definitely caught on. Later that day, she walked by my desk, wiggled her toes in her sandals, and said, “Hope you liked the show.” I had no idea if she was teasing me or flirting, but it’s been on my mind ever since.
Now, every time we see each other, she makes little comments about her shoes or how tired her feet are after work. I don’t know if she’s messing with me or if she actually enjoys the attention, but it’s driving me crazy. Should I take the hint and compliment her, or would that just make things even more awkward?
