I’ve had a crush on one of my coworkers for a while. We’ve always gotten along, and one day during lunch, she mentioned how sore her feet were from walking around all day. Half-joking, I said, “I give amazing foot rubs, you know.”
To my surprise, she said, “Really? I might take you up on that.” Later that week, during a casual hangout with a few people, she actually asked me for that foot rub. We were sitting close on the couch, and she rested her feet on my lap.
It took everything in me to stay calm, but inside, I was going crazy. Her feet were so soft, her toes freshly painted, and she just kept chatting casually like it was nothing. I still think about it sometimes… I don’t know if she had any idea what that moment meant to me.
