🍫 DIY: EASY VEGAN DARK CHOCOLATE NUTTY BARK 🍫
Ingredients:
💙1/4 cup raw hazelnuts (we used walnuts)
💙1/4 cup raw almonds (we used cashews)
💙1/3 cup large flake dried coconut
💙1/2 cup virgin coconut oil
💙1/2 cup cocoa or cacao powder, sifted if necessary
💙1/4 cup pure maple syrup (we used agave syrup)
💙1 tablespoon smooth almond butter, optional
💙pinch fine sea salt
Preheat oven to 300F. Line a 9" square pan or a small baking sheet with two pieces of parchment paper, one going each way. Set aside.
Add your desired nuts to a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 10 minutes if desired. Remove baking sheet and add the coconut flakes and spread out. Continue roasting the nuts and coconut flakes for another 3-4 minutes, or until the coconut is lightly golden, again if desired. Watch closely to avoid burning - coconut burns fast!
If using hazelnuts, place hazelnuts on several sheets of damp paper towel. Wrap the hazelnuts and rub them vigorously with the paper towel until the skins fall off. It’s ok if some skins don’t come off. Discard the skins and roughly chop the hazelnuts and almonds.
In a medium saucepan, melt the coconut oil over low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in the cocoa (or cacao) powder, maple syrup, and almond butter (if using) until smooth. Add a pinch of sea salt to taste. Stir in half of the almonds and hazelnuts.
With a spatula, spoon the chocolate mixture onto the prepared parchment-lined pan or sheet and smooth out until it's about 1/4-1/2 inch thick. Sprinkle on the remaining nuts and all of the coconut flakes. Place into freezer on a flat surface for about 15 minutes, until frozen solid.
Once frozen, break apart into bark. Store in the freezer until ready to eat. I don't recommend keeping it out on the counter long because it melts fast! Recipe inspired by: oh she glows

Every Saturday ( & Friday / Sunday afternoon for that matter) I’d be dancing somewhere posh in the city prior to March of this year. 👽🖖 Hello to my friends from the beginning and all the newbies here that support me! I thought I might share some things about myself to give you a better idea of me as I am asked these questions a lot! 👇
1. I am a dancer and danced competitively in high school, then taught several youth classes in college, and gogo - danced // professionally performed in nightclubs for 9 yrs. (since I was under 21 in fact)!
2. I still dance! I go to a local studio, and of course dance in home whenever it strikes me!
3. I am certified in barre, yoga, and group exercise and used to teach those classes as well! Now I just do barre daily at home, and yoga weekly.
4. I am an avid hiker! I enjoy the local forest preserves where I am presently located!
5. I am mixed: half Puerto Rican, half Slavic (Ukrainian / Polish)
6. My favorite genre of movies is Sci-Fi! I'm a nerd for cyborgs, time-travel, intergalactic and inter dimensional travel... etc! (Followed by fantasy and mystery).
7. I began teaching myself how to code this year due to my work industry being completely disrupted due to the 2020 bullshit! I am still learning!
8. I love vegan food and I love trying new recipes and sharing them on here with you all!
9. I do have a Bachelor's degree, as well as several certifications! I love to learn and grow!
10. I am an ambivert, but highly independent!
