No exercise, bad eating habits (the hospital has nothing but Starbucks) and crippling stress - but today at the pool, when Gloria Gaynor’s epic anthem came on, I felt the joy of it and suddenly felt like dancing. For the first time I feel like I’ll be able to get things under control again and take better care of myself. So watch this space!

I went back to the pool for the first time in months. I couldn't believe how sore I felt after a very short swim, the body really does lose its fitness if you stop exercising. But this was more for my mental health anyway, and it felt good to get back to it.
