Crazy to believe the fight was a week ago today!
Right now last week I was sitting in my hotel room doing a ton of exercises to stay calm. I woke up at 8:00am and had my cheerios and protein shake, at 10:30am we moved the beds in the hotel room to hit mits and do clinch drills, at 3:00pm I got my hair braided and at 6:00pm was the call time for the arena.
Today I woke up to lawn mowers! 😂🤪
Seems so close and so far at the same time.
I’m excited to get back to normal life and be on here again.

It’s been a wild road with her and I’m going to tell you my side.
I will never know why people need fighters to bury the hatchet after the fight… it’s a fight. Jones and Cormier dont like each other, Ronda and Miesha dont like each other, Conor and Khabib don’t like each other… sometimes shit just goes too far for a friendly recovery.
This is my frustrated rant, then it’s time to put it behind me and get back to having fun!

I’m bummed but I’m ok.
Body is healthy, just some bumps and bruises, and a scuffed nose. I’ve gotten through so much and put so much work in, it’s hard not to be a bit sad and frustrated with the outcome.

Today was the last hard sparring of my training camp. We are finally on to fight week!
I’ll only do one 45 minute shakeout a day for the next week and the rest of the time is to relax and recover.
On Fridays I come to the ocean to deposit all of the hard work and stress back in to the water. It’s cold, but to me it’s better than an ice bath.

I need to use my thumbs for grabbing and gripping in MMA and grappling, so I never include it in my hand work.🥋
I also hit very hard🥊, so I need the extra wrist support and knuckle padding. It’s been a great find to do it this way, perfect for me and my style!!

Can’t lie, sometimes I struggle with the 60’s and there are no 55’s at the gym I go to.
The other day I asked my coach:
“Are there lot of other women that get upset that there is no weights between 50lbs and 60lbs?”
He told me:
“No, most people are upset that there is nothing between 15lbs and 20lbs”
Sometimes I forget I’m not normal 😏

Ok here are some ideas for if you’re going to join me in my training camp. These are some options of things I do that help me with my fight weight loss, fat burn and cardio.
1. Intermittent fasting. I stop eating at 9 o’clock at night and I start eating again the next day at noon. So basically I pick 8 consecutive hours a day that I want to eat.
If I’m working out before 9am I will intermittently fast. If I work out after 9am I will eat before practice (usually an hour before).
2. Fasted cardio. I put my shoes, headphones and hoodie next to my bed at night so when I wake up first thing in the morning I’m out the door on a fast paced brisk walk (not running!)
You can go to the bathroom if you need, but no food or drinks and try to get out the door within 10-15 minutes of waking up. I walk somewhere for 23 minutes then turn around and walk back for that same 23 minutes. 46 minutes total. Having good music helps. You can have coffee and eat when you get home from your speedy walk.
If you can alternate these days, or just add a couple in during the week it will kick start your metabolism and you’ll see some results soon.
3. Drink a ton of water! In training camp fighters drink a gallon a day. Fun fact, your fat burns off and leaves your body through your urine. So chug!
