This is my favorite video on here.
It was exciting to film.

It's our mental representation of ourselves; it's what allows us to contemplate ourselves. Body image isn't simply influenced by feelings, and it actively influences much of our behavior, self-esteem, and psychopathology....
Indeed, our body is our personal billboard."*

Iād like to add to this. Heās saying that our body image, the way we feel about the way we look, directly influences our behavior and psychology. I think this is especially important to realize in the ābody positivityā movement weāre living in.
Personally, my weight has fluctuated throughout my life. At my heaviest, I didnāt start getting healthy until I got to a place, mentally, where I was able to love myself at the weight I was at. Thatās not to say I didnāt want to change but I accepted myself exactly where I was at the moment.
Itās hard to make self improvements when you perceive yourself as less than. Whatās the point in striving for excellence when you feel like garbage? Sure, you can hate yourself enough to start the process but itās not sustainable in the long run. Itāll take one bump in the road for all your progress to come crashing down. In my experience, self acceptance is the first step to a sustainable healthy lifestyle.

*With a partner, I'm usually line B.
By myself, I'm line A with extra peaks!
I've always been like that. Is it me? Romantically, I LOVE men but when a man is in my bedroom, I find it hard to relax.
I donāt think the issue is the quality of men. I have loved wonderful men who have loved me generously. I just feel like I hit a wall most times and I canāt break through it.*

Iron & Wine
Tonight with the sea and the salty breeze
The milk from your breast is on my lips
And lovlier words from your mouth to me
And salt from my sweat and fingertips
My hands they seek the end of afternoon
My hands believe and move over you
Tonight with the sea and the rhythm there
The waves and the wind the night is black
Tonight with the scent of your long black hair
Spread out like your breath across my back
Your hands they move like waves over me
Beneath the moon tonight near the sea

*"How can biologists, behaviorists, theologians, and educators insist in good conscience upon the continued existence of a massive state of ignorance of human sexual response, to the detriment of the well-being of millions of Individuals?... Can that one facet of our lives, affecting more people in more ways than any other physiologic response other than those necessary to our very existence, be allowed to continue without benefit of objective, scientific analysis?"*
