yesterday we went to brunch then did a hop-on-hop-off tour of the city (New Orleans) we couldn't hear a single thing the tour guide was saying over the bus engine, but the view and breeze was great it's been fun being a tourist in my city, I've seen a lot more of it now while my family has been visiting than I have the 5 months I've lived here also my family's learned to stop asking me questions about the city because I don't know anything LMAO

photodump from yesterday!! we did a vampire themed escape room (and we escaped by driving a stake into a coffin which was pretty cool), had an amazing dinner at fancy place I don't remember the name of (but the food was really good, I got shrimp and goat cheese crepes for app and jerk chicken with sweet potato sauce for main), then ofc barhopping all night (I was prepared that we'd be drinking every night while they were here, my family really likes drinking) and ended the night at a strip club honestly it's been a lot, they're all such big partiers and so extraverted and it can be fun hanging out with them but it's overwhelming too how wild they are when I'm such a lil dweeby homebody I kinda feel like the weird odd one out, but I'm hangin I talked to one dancer at the strip club for a while who says she's addicted to Roblox, and also thanked me profusely for helping her find this game she tried once and wanted to play again called "Rambo 6" that she couldn't find when she googled it (she was talking about Rainbow 6 Siege LOL) so I felt good I got to be helpful also the green dress I'm wearing in the pics is my sister's (Michelle's) and I thought it was so cutee

GUYS I'M SO HAPPY 😭😭💛💛 remember that dress I ordered for my bday that was a lil too big and didn't fit how I had hoped? well, I was going to return it and exchange it for a smaller size, but they were completely sold out of the smaller size and not planning on restocking so they couldn't do the exchange (makes sense since I got the dress on clearance) I was so sad, but then by some miracle I found the exact same dress in the size I needed used on Depop, and it just came today, in time for my bday dinner on Friday!! and I'm soo happy with how it fits also I think I accidentally fell in love with the girl who sold it to me because it smells so good.. like SO good she sprayed it with love potion before sending 😔 also so you can see the before and after, I included the old pic of what the other size dress looked like a few people said the other one looked nice on me which was very sweet, but I just think this one fits so much nicer

look at the beautiful amazing blanket Cody finished knitting tonight!!! we went over to some friends' place (one of whom, Alex, happens to be an amazing cook) and had the most delicious lemony, creamy, asparagusy and zhuccini-y fettucine plus the best wine I've ever tasted ever?? it was sweet and fruity and I was surprised that wine could even taste that good we ate and watched this true crime docuseries called The Jinx (I'm still reeling from it... the ending was unbelievable), which came up in convo cause one of our friends Brett wrote a thesis in college about how it was one of the documentaries that changed the popular style in which true crime media is made now (more dramatic, suspenseful, Hitchcockian, emotional impact over facts, something like that) anyways, I know that the genre has its flaws, but if you like that kind of thing you should definitely watch The Jinx. it was undeniably riveting and left us open mouthed by the end looking at each other like WHATT it's also made by the same guy who made the Catfish documentary (not Nev, but the director/producer) which is so good, the dude is talented at what he does

there's this brand, House of CB, that makes super cute dresses I feel like every time I see a pic of someone online wearing an especially beautiful and flattering dress and ask where it's from, they say House of CB. I've wanted to get one for myself for a while, but they're reallyy expensive so I never actually did it.. until now 👀 I thought I'd get myself one as a birthday gift to myself and so that I have something nice to wear to my birthday dinner when my family visits soon (plus they were having a big sale) But I guess I got a size too big because it has a much looser fit than I was looking for 😢 I really liked the hugged, fitted look of this dress on the model and I wish I had sized down. I'm going to see if I can exchange it and hopefully maybe even get the smaller one before my bday dinner with my family on Sep 8th it looks okay in these pics, but I think it looks kind of loose and frumpy in person

bailed on streaming today because I'm not feeling well 🫣 I don't think I'm sick exactly, I think it's anxiety manifesting into physical symptoms but I'll definitely be back to streaming tomorrow I got some things done around the house today despite being all jittery and nauseous, so that makes me feel a lil bit better! and most importantly I spent some time with Ellie, which was really calming, she's so sweet 🥺 in the pic you can see the lil purple worm on a string we were playing with She's so cute when she stalks her prey, she'll run and crouch down behind something like the legs of a chair and peek out and watch the worm squirm all around until I pretend the worm has gotten sleepy and comfortable, satisfied that there are no nearby threats, and curl it up into a lil spiral that's when she POUNCES 🐅 right when the worm think it's safe enough to fall asleep she's so devious
