1 year ago I decided I wanted to be a web designer. I started learning because it felt like the perfect mix: creativity, structure, pretty visuals, and a real profession. I spent nights no sleeping, learned HTML, watched endless tutorials, and cried a little when my layouts broke on every screen except mine hahah .
Learning wasn’t hard because of the content, but because I had to stay focused and keep up with crazy deadlines 🥹🥹
My personal record? 🤪 17 hours working on a project and cold pizza at 6am. And honestly? I’m more of a cat soul - sometimes inspired, sometimes napping at 3 PM. I got a lot of burnout .
And just like that… it’s Friday, April 4th - exactly one year since I submitted my final project.
For the first time, I’m actually feeling happy about it, because on Monday I’m finally getting my diploma. They’ll also help me with job search recommendations, which is exciting.
On one hand, I feel proud — I proved to myself that I can do hard things. But on the other hand… what if this career I worked so hard for isn’t really mine? What if it was a choice made by an older version of me — past Sonya?
