Hey guys. How are you guys doing?

Actually I was in big trouble 😂 today please listen to me about that.

When I stay in the US I use Airbnb instead of hotels. (If you don't know what Airbnb is, please look it up).

Again, I had booked more than a month in advance.
I have a lot of requests, such as renting out the whole place, not too far from the airport, safe, with a gym, not too expensive, etc., so I need to make a reservation early.

The check-in date was 3 days before.
I had just returned from a game and was very tired and very sleepy, so I wanted to lie down as soon as possible. However, the key box for check-in was not in the designated place.

No matter where I looked, it was not there. And the house was not curtained and the room was completely visible from outside. The floor was in shambles, unlike the pictures on the website.
I got scared and contacted the host. But there was no reply. No answer on the phone either.
I realized that I had been cheated.

I had no choice but to stay in the hotel.
I then contacted customer support, but they were busy and slow to reply.
I was anxious. What am I going to do for the next month and a half? Will I get my money back? This anxiety was too damaging to my tired, sleep-deprived body to sleep.

Then finally my host contacted me.
"That house is broken, we will move you to another house."

Are you kidding me? I had booked the room over a month in advance, why would they tell me that on the day of check-in? And why would I be stupid enough to trust this lazy host after what I've been through?

I said, "No thanks. Please let me cancel." I replied. But again, no reply.
Airbnb does not allow cancellation on the guest's part alone. You can't cancel or get a refund without the host's permission.
When I contacted customer support, the only response I got was, "Your host has not responded, we will let you know when we get back to you."
Is this an attempt to continue ignoring me and just take my money? I've never been bullied by someone like this before 😂

Luckily I found a different good home remaining and have been there since yesterday. A little more expensive than the house I originally booked 😂

But customer support finally did it today.
They cancelled and gave me a full refund and also refunded me the difference between the house I originally booked and the house I'm in now! 🥹✨

Think of it this way, they resolved the issue in 3 days, so it's a quick turnaround. But I was very scared of the trouble ahead.
I am very grateful to the support center for their help and I will have to be more careful in the future when choosing a house.
I still have no apology from the lazy host, but I don't care. I don't want to be involved anymore. 😩

Sorry for the long story 😂 everyone be careful when you use Airbnb!
