I've been working for over a year on a new short film... And that one requires a lot more preparation and planning than usual. So, here is the last part of step-by-step process, the part that usually drags on forever : the finishing touches.
The funniest part was making the 💧 drops close-ups ! I tried to get different solutions in which to drop the 💧 and film it, and @blessed_by_venus came up with the best : glue ! We dissolved a bit of glue in water in a jar, so the 💧 would drip very slowly and beautifully.
I don't have a macro lens but I did the manual DIY trick : turn your lens around and free-lense the whole thing. The results are so beautiful, it reminded me of Hannibal BBC (a show that will still be the absolute visual reference for me), I stimmed on it for hours
I got my old ink and nib to do some cursive calligraphy for the titles, because I was unhappy with the fonts I had in stock and wanted to make it more personal.
Doing the subtitles turned out to be quite a headache. I'm still fiddling with Premiere, I don't like the software, everything was buggy, but nothing made sense. I had to try at least... 3 times ? I eventually used an online processor to get a transcript and subtitles done, and weirdly I've been able to import and edit these ones correctly.
At least one part of the transcript made my day :)
Now I still need to do a trailer, and... I'm done ? 😯 I wish I had counted how many days, how many hours I spent on this damn project. Far too much, considering it's a movie I can't licence anywhere.
DM me about it if you wanna get the specifics about how to see this movie !
