Just spent the day shooting tin types and working from my blanket in the sun. 😍
I am so excited to show y'all the magic that was made today!
Tin Types are one of a kind photographs made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of metal coated with a dark lacquer or enamel. This type of photography was first introduced in the 1850s and it isn't used much at all any longer simply because of the extremely long exposure time. It can take ONE to FIVE seconds of sitting totally still to capture a photo properly! Thankfully we had a bright day today to shoot, so most of ours took about ONE second.
I'll be sharing some of the images as soon as they are laquered and scanned into the computer!

I will also be selling all of the photos from today, so if you see one you like, let me know! I'll be making the deal extra sweet for you!
