After he'd used up his worth to them (he was a grand champion sire), they wanted to put him to sleep, as he was half blind and missing many teeth. Fuck that, we rescued him, and he's healthy and spoiled rotten! I've volunteered for years at animal shelters and fostered several rescue dogs.
