Not gonna lie, I nearly turned back when I spotted the first big 'Swamp Puppy' sprawled across the entire trail. Actually, I did turn around! As I was heading back, I ran into an older couple who seemed like they knew their way around. I stopped and told them, 'Hey, there’s a huge gator up ahead, so I turned around.' They just smiled and said, 'Oh, you're new here. Come with us, you’ll be fine. Plus, you’re faster than us if it decides to chase!' 😂
So, I went with them, heart racing, palms sweaty... until we got to the gator. We literally stepped over it. After that, the other ten gators we passed were a breeze.
Now, if you encounter a gator in the wild, remember to stay cautious. If it hisses, don’t approach or provoke it. But most of the time, they're just basking in the sun, warming up for another day in beautiful Florida. 🐊
Nature is incredible, and gators have become one of my absolute favorite animals. Who would’ve thought I’d love being out there with them? 😊📸
