Sometimes life throws little surprises your way that make you stop and smile. The other day, I was heading to the gym, fully focused and ready for a serious workout. But as I approached the building, I noticed a man standing outside with a huge bouquet of white roses. And, no, they weren’t for me—he was waiting for someone else.
What struck me, though, was what he did next. Instead of just standing there with the flowers, he started talking to people passing by, handing each of them a rose. I got one too. At that moment, I completely forgot about my workout and stayed there a little longer, just watching it all unfold.
It made me think: how often do we take the time to make someone’s day brighter? It was such a simple gesture, but it instantly lifted my mood—and everyone else’s too.
This little moment reminded me how much joy can come from the smallest things. Sometimes, you don’t need a big reason to smile or to make someone else happy. That day, my most important workout wasn’t in the gym—it was for my soul.
When was the last time you did something unexpected to make someone smile?
