My grandparents lived in a small farming community, the type with dirt roads where everyone knows each other. We'd go door bell ditching and Christmas caroling to most of the homes. Us kids would take turns ringing the doorbell and running off out of sight and then when they would open the door everyone on the horse drawn sleigh would start to sing a song.
