I dunno if it’s meant to look like claymation animation….I can’t tell if it’s a style choice or bad frame rate in the this. But I like the look of it. Oh and there is a giant bird dragon thing that totally has Pukei-Pukei move set. If anyone watches it let me know if you see it too. It’s at about 4:35 mins in. Seems like prepping for the journey is just as important as the journey itself and there is not only hunting of the monsters but also sneaking, running away from larger beasts, blending in etc I also bet it’s got plenty of secrets and lore dotted around.
