Not so funny at the time but I can laugh about it now… my second pregnancy ended exactly on the due date, but with my first, for some reason I was about a week overdue and everyone was over it. My mom came in from out-of-state, expecting to see her first grandchild, but it just didn’t happen, in spite of my best efforts. That woman… she had me walking all around Santa Monica beach, big-bellied and absolutely sore and exhausted but I did it! Walking in the sand is no joke. I was barely 21 at the time and I figured my mom knew what would be best but she was impatient and pushy!!! Telling me to use castor oil and an en*ma (not sure if that word is allowed lol) 💀 She also wanted me to lie to my doctor so she could medically induce me, despite that making labor so much more intense… yeah, toxic right?! 😂 I knew that my little one would make an appearance when they were ready and I didn’t want to force it at all. My second pregnancy was the kind of the same way with her but I knew better and I put my foot down more, I think. You know, parenthood requires a ton of patience… but so does pregnancy! The next time I get knocked up I am not even going to worry about getting the baby out ASAP. I’m going to fully appreciate the calm before the storm and savor every second of being a pregnant goddess. 😄
