Last night I tried something new... the guy who invited me to the dumpster open-mic told me about another open mic on Mondays, again not really knowing what i was signing up for, I just new it was a beer bar, not realizing it was outdoors and just in an open air tent, good thing I had a hoodie in the car, but was definitely cold! Also not realizing how busy it would be, it was crowded when I got there, all the tables full and overflow at one point. My friend who invited me said he put me on the list and upon getting there I didn’t see him so I checked in with the dude in charge who said he thought the guy was fucking with him when he said BJ McNaughty, as if he had some new alias and was trying to be funny, so he had not put me on the list, but I got on it pretty far back which except for the cold I was cool with but also less people. Turned out to be both music and comics. They did one music, then three comics in repeat fashion. The musicians performed inside the building in like a fish bowl manner while we watched from the street in a tent with the sidewalk in between us. The comics performed outside, on that sidewalk, even as passergoers walked by and at times even became part of the show! You had 5 minutes, they were firm on that. I need to get to a point of no notebook, but I think it’s coming along well! After waking up Sunday unable to walk, lay down, sit or anything for longer than a few minutes I had a video call with a dr I was prescribed some pain drugs Yesterday and while I felt high, I still was in intense pain in this moment. I hobbled to and from the stage, I mean sidewalk... I woke up today feeling better enough that I haven’t taken any drugs, yet. Sorry for the quality of video, but when your performing on the streets you don’t always get the best lighting...
