Added 2024-04-26 19:56:01 +0000 UTCIm back from moving my mom into memory care. far away but im satisfied w where she is at. i go back this weekend to set up her room and do some manicures for the ladies on her floor. i have a heart for the mentally disturbed, we are all disturbed and some are just on a higher level. I am able to take all my mommas plants and decorate her room. that will be done saturday. the workers and all patients are so very sweet and know how to handle the crazy moments, we all just go crazy and go with it lol. yesterday the fire alarm went off and the memory care unit was triggered w sundowning. My mom cared for dementia patients before she struck w the disease so I am more than use to the environment.
I am happy she can roam the halls, she's very active and finds peace cleaning, that is her joy and as of last night she set her room up a lil fancy by angling the furniture, she went to the common room and started cleaning arranging the furniture. its so cute to watch her in her element.
if all works out I will not try to move her close me but I will move close to her. its far away but all my time is spent w her nowadays and cost of living is literally half of what i pay. Until then I will go two random days weekly and check in unannounced. North carolina is a beautiful drive no matter where you are so it's tolerable.
i might not have the most sought out job but it does allow me to be w my family when they need me and still stay on top of regular life:)
