One of the most satisfying things about visiting another country is experiencing the cultural differences.
As someone that grew up seeing kids using 3rd and even 4th handed clothes until they were unwearable, only to witness the clothes turned into cleaning rags or puppy blankets. Or furniture and appliances that would last each family about 80+ years until unusable. I was amazed at how many good, like new, things you could find in thrift shops and websites like Craigslist.
And I'm not even going to get into the "For free" items I'd see people leave on the sidewalk for anyone to take.

Ah.... 'Murica! A consumers' paradise. Broke or not. The wheel keeps turning... But how much is too much?

**2012 through 2013** - a couple times a month I'd see a comment pop up in my chat:

It was always the same message. Copied and pasted. The first time I saw it I smirked, "wtf?".
The second, I remembered him from the other day.
The third I appreciated the persistence.
The fourth, I irked and ignored,
then forgot...

Until a few months later, when he returned:

At least the message changed, but because I didn't acknowledge him on chat he started sending e-mails:

I could picture several well constructed and informative romantic ads spread across "dating sites like Craigslist and others":

Who would have guessed that my strict list of requirements could be easily fulfilled had I looked for it at the right time? I bet I'd not have to look for long.
He tried until late 2014.

But the ads slowly and sadly got buried by other items for sale. Buried to oblivion... and unanswered.

Romance was dead. It was discarded along with a $10 mattress with bed bugs.

But only for a few months!

He resurrected in **2015** with a new look and the first and only tip he ever sent me:
