(Puerto-Rican rice) π΅π·π (Press Play!) *Veggie Friendly.* ~Need: *1 Caldero Pot (Cauldron!) *1 tbsp Olive Oil *(If using meat... 1/3 Cup Ham or Pork) *1/3 Cup Sofrito *3 Cups Water or Veggie Broth *1/3 Cup Tomato Sauce * 1 Tsp Dried Oregano (Additional options: rosemary, thyme, basil) *1/4 Cup Cilantro (Optional) *2-3 Bay Leaves *2 Cups Rice *15 Oz. Can Pigeon Peas (Gandules) ~Directions: π΄Put Caldero on Low-Medium Heat π΄Combine olive oil, sofrito and meat if using, then add sazon and tomato sauce. STIR constantly for 4 mins until Boiling π΄Add your water or broth π΄NEXT add in your drained pigeon peas, oregano, bay leaves (other herbs now too) π΄You want the mix to be HIGHLY seasoned. Once mixture is boiling add the rice! π΄Allow the rice to absorb everything (20-25 mins), do best not to lift the Caldero lid as you want the rice to saturate. ENJOY!!!
