This book should be read by every literate woman on earth. There are certain red flags (or as de Becker puts it, “Pre-Incident Indicators”) that indicate someone’s propensity for violence. The most important indicator that everyone should be aware of is whenever someone discounts the word “No”. Even though our interactions are online, a firm boundary of mine is when someone doesn’t take “no” for an answer. If I tell you that I’m not available for a video chat today, and you try to talk me out of it because you’re really horny and it will “only take five minutes”…guess what? I’m certainly not going to acquiesce. Nor will I be willing to offer an alternative date. I get it…we’re all here for the fun and the fantasy. But behind that fantasy is a real woman, with real life commitments and priorities. If you are unable to respect the woman behind the Hotwife fantasy, then perhaps you should invest in a blow up doll. Or at the very least, unlock a damn five minute video….
