Added 2023-08-29 23:43:25 +0000 UTCthese four winds kristin hannah guess who read another depression era historical fiction with a heavy emphasis on labor rights ? i swear i’m not doing it on purpose. didn’t love her writing which is to be expected when my aunt lends me a book. the mother daughter stuff made me sob on multiple occasions. i thought all the dust bowl stuff she wrote well but once she got to the leftist political stuff she seemed undereducated and out of her element. it seemed like she was trying to combine steinbeck's grapes of wrath with in dubious battle which is a great concept but the execution was lacking. skip this one and just read steinbeck. this made me want a commie boyfriend hardened from police beatings but soft for me :,) 5/10 overall but 10/10 character development
