mimis tales of horror by junji ito my bestie calls me and says, โiโm in barnes and they have the new junji ito, do you want me to grab it for you?โ โyes ๐ญ yes i do๐ญโ this one was really fun, scary, and all the things i want out of a junji ito work. does anyone know if he does his own english translations these days ? this one had so much more slang in it than usual; the wording was so much more casual. it was fitting, since itโs told from a teengirls perspective, but iโm still curious if itโs because the translator changed, or because heโs learned more english colloquialisms, or what. the editor note says itโs because itโs set in kansai, but iโve noticed this change with the other recent translations as well. my favorite story was grave placement, but my favorite drawings were the one from seashore. he is so fucking creative. he blows me away. i love the way heโs able to represent movement in drawings. i bet his nightmares are terrifying. 8.5/10
