A personal post for you to get to know me a little bit more on a personal level. 3 years ago, I was engaged to a Christian spiritualist pastor. We dedicated our two years together fighting the mental health system in Wigan. I did everything I could to make Wigan crisis team and the council aware of the statistics of suicides in Wigan and demanded changes to be made. We felt like we were banging our heads against a brick wall and was getting no where so we took matters into our own hands and open a health centre offering therapies and treatments for the body, mind and soul. We held 24/7 suicidal dealation support groups online and a weekly face to face support group for anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts. It was an extremely demanding job but a rewarding journey too. Unfortunately we went threw a relationship breakdown where we were pushed to move away from helping our community with poor mental health and focus on ourselves. I then decided to stop worrying about everyone else and put myself first. I cut down on my antidepressants and mood stabilizers, stopped smoking weed and found an alternative way to please myself.
