Added 2020-06-02 05:45:31 +0000 UTCyou are likely already aware of my stance if you follow me on twitter, but i feel it's important to address here too to be totally clear of where i stand. i am in full support of the protests and i believe strongly in dismantling the systemic racism that is so engrained in our culture. i acknowledge my white privilege and how it leaves me ignorant on all the ways racism is perpetuated in our society. that it is my responsibility as a white person to educate myself on these topics and learn how to be better. it's so important to listen to black people and really hear them. to believe them when they tell you that you are being racist, and to respect that, even if it feels uncomfortable or you dont fully understand. to be more than just not racist, but actively anti-racist. so obviously, i will not tolerate racism of any kind here. i am trying my best to really listen. to read resources, to not hide away or turn a blind eye, and to take action where i can. this looks like signing petitions, donating, protesting, & amplifying black voices. i ask that you please do the same. please go to this link & sign the petitions, text the numbers, and donate if you have the means: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/ every action adds up & makes a difference. ♡
